100 Word Wisdom; This Obsession We Have With Finding Ourselves

We travel so that we don’t have to face what scares us back home,

Or to replace the limbo which grips our lives with an illusion of adventures found elsewhere,

Or because everyone else seems to be doing it,

And most of us, secretly hope to find our true selves somewhere along the way.

And that’s all good and fine,

But do you not think,
that it’s the hardest thing finding yourself if you don’t believe in the person you already are..?

Just before you go, leave a message down here and let me know what you think of this piece?

  1. Thought provoking indeed…. 🙂 I continually ask myself this question, but I think often times we can find who we are when we get our eyes off of ourselves. Maybe that’s why people go far to find a home in themselves and who they are. It gives them an excuse to interrupt their own daily life to then in turn look out at the world around them and gain fresh perspectives. Just a random thought. There’s a quote by C.S. Lewis that comes to mind: “Some day we will find what we are looking for. Or maybe we won’t, maybe we will find something much greater than that.” Just some food for thought 🙂 have a beautiful day! Thanks for sharing!

    1. I quite like your ‘random’ thoughts haha. I completely agree with what you are saying; one needs to look at what’s beyond their everyday existence if one wishes to see the whole picture and hopefully change for the better. But to do that, I believe one must believe in themselves, at least to some degree.
And that’s one hell of a quote. Here is one for you regarding our discussion; “Let the world change you, and you can change the world.”
